What went wrong
Where I missed out was I was meant to put a blanket over it [the crate] but instead the blanket was on the bench. So that’s where I went wrong: last minute styling, the rush, everyone running round. I just threw it on the bench and I should have put it on the crate and I know that was one of the things that Michelle Ogundehin picked up on as well.
Obviously this week, if only I considered more sensory items… That was what let me down.
Michelle was saying on the sofa because it was an outside area, “Why didn’t you put Astroturf underneath the tree?” I thought, oh yeah, like that’s a missed opportunity. But then she was saying so the dogs could wee on the tree! Then I was thinking, is that encouraging dogs to wee inside?
Because I had the little garden picnic area in the corner, I should have put something on the walls. I came up with the idea afterwards — a little too late — I should have put velcro on the mural walls and tennis balls.
The most challenging thing is obviously the timing. There was no thinking time. If I had — let’s just say two weeks — to design on its own, I think we’d be on to a winner. But time was not on my side.
I was gutted to go. It would have been lovely to carry on but you know: it is what it is. Someone has to go home and it was my turn.
Back in week two, when it was all about sustainability doing the offices, I thought I was a goner. Literally in my head I thought I’m gone. So when they told us Emma was going home, that’s why I got emotional. I thought that was me. I was so sad to see Emma go but then in a way it was like a bit of a relief. It was a rollercoaster of emotion but yeah, I did think I was going home week two, I can’t lie.
Youngest designer
I didn’t really think of my age on Interior Design Masters. It shouldn’t really come into it cause I feel like if you’ve got the eye for design, you’ve got the eye for it.
It was lovely just to be with a bunch of people, like-minded, creative and just bouncing ideas off each other and getting inspired.
I work in social media. Social media and interior design go hand in hand. I would love to go into designing more entertainment projects and paint murals too. It would be a dream to produce wallpapers and even design a bar or a restaurant where family and friends can go, it’d be amazing.
Bradley told his story to Lily Waddell.
Interior Design Masters continues on Friday next week instead of Thursday at the usual time of 8pm on BBC One.
