10 Interior Design Trends That Will Be Everywhere in 2025, According to Ruggable

From paint colors and tile patterns to rugs and appliances, interior design trends are constantly changing. To help homeowners get ahead of the trends, Ruggable, a company that manufactures washable rugs, released its 2025 trend report. The report outlines 10 emerging interior trends, from earthy tones to futuristic patterns, that will dominate this year. Ahead, we’re sharing a closer look at each trend featured in the report.

Archaic Modernity

Archaic modernity focuses on raw materials, softly rough textures, and natural forms. Ruggable says it combines ancient design principles with modern sensibilities. Pieces that align with this design style may feature rich, warm colors and soft materials, bringing a natural quality into your space.

Art Deco Reimagined

When you think of Art Deco, think of sleek geometric shapes and vertical lines working together to create a sleek and sophisticated look. While this style was popular decades ago, it’s making a comeback. “This trend celebrates joyful nostalgia, offering fresh takes on geometric designs and luxurious materials to create an aesthetic that feels both classic and contemporary,” the report says.

New Industrial

Industrial style will become even more popular in 2025. “This trend celebrates the beauty of decay, incorporating aged materials, weathered textures, and subtle color accents for a more refined and layered look,” Ruggable says.

Southwest Flow

Expect to see rugs inspired by the Southwest in homes across the country this year. Ruggable says this aesthetic blends clean lines with earth tones and natural materials. The result? A beautiful harmony reminiscent of surfaces found in nature.

Digital Dreamscape

The digital dreamscape aesthetic blurs the line between reality and fantasy, creating a whimsical and unique look. This trend leans into “AI-generated visuals and ethereal landscapes,” Ruggable explains. Expect to see liquid lines, sensorial textures, and soft, muted colors with this trend.

Dark Elegance

The dark elegance aesthetic evokes a sense of calm through monochromatic palettes and rich textures such as marble, hand-carved wood, and limestone.

Costal Scandifornia

Coastal-inspired décor has been taking over homes for some time now, think coastal grandmother and the Nancy Meyers aesthetic. Now, a new costal trend is on the rise—coastal scandifornia, which combines classic seaside décor with Scandinavian minimalism. It is inspired by the comforting charm of coastal living.

Nature-Inspired Maximalism

If you prefer maximalism over minimalism, you’ll love this trend. According to Ruggable’s report, nature-inspired maximalism “calls forth lush botanical prints with fantastical, nature-inspired motifs as the pendulum swings away from minimalism,” the report says.

Elevated Homestead

This sophisticated aesthetic combines two huge trends from 2024—cottagecore and shabby chic. It features simple but interesting designs, like delicate florals, patchwork textiles, and checkerboard prints in soft watery colors, Ruggable says.

Color-Blocking Minimalism

If the idea of bringing more color into your home intimidates you, consider this trend. Color-blocking minimalism celebrates minimalism in a unique way, utilizing color-blocking through the use of primary colors, grids, and futuristic shapes.
